About DAMA
The
Sacramento Valley Chapter of the Data Management Association
presents each month a guest speaker or panel of information
system professionals promoting the understanding of concepts,
and the development of practices to manage information as a
strategic enterprise-wide asset.
Most meetings
are free to the public. Members and guests are welcome to join
a discussion and no-host lunch following each meeting.
DAMA
is a not-for-profit, vendor-independent association of
technical and business professionals dedicated to advancing
the concepts and practices of information resource management
and data resource management.
Our
purpose is to promote the understanding, development and
practice of managing information and data as a key enterprise
asset. Our objective is to help practitioners become more
knowledgeable and skilled in their profession by:

and clarifying the roles of information and data resource
management

corporate management by demonstrating how information and
data asset management affects corporate performance

Sponsoring
regional conferences and symposia where industry experts
present state-of-art data practices and theories

a focal point for addressing issues relating to

academic and professional certification programs for the
DRM/IRM professional.
