Strategies
for Data Integration Services
Peter
Tran, Director, Product Solutions, Composite Software |
According to a recent IDC study, 60+% of
web services will be data integration services. A
Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) offers many
benefits—notably, a dramatic reduction in the cost of
maintaining rapidly-changing IT systems, acceleration of the
development process through reuse, improved asset utilization
and reduced redundancy, to name just a few. A key aspect of
reuse is the ability to leverage information that the
enterprise deems mission critical.
Enterprise information integration (EII)
helps automate such data integration services and includes the
concepts of federated queries, optimized queries, WSDL
delivery, and other key features which make real-time data
integration practical.
This session will discuss the following
via a series of case studies:
-
Leveraging the power of
service-oriented architecture (SOA) for master data
aggregation of both operational data and historical data
-
Bridging the gap between information
that resides within packaged applications and the emerging
SOA
-
Applying EII to automate the
integration of new data sources
-
How EII delivers comprehensive,
reusable “views” of customers, products, employees, and more
-
Understanding and preparing for the
next generation of data services
