First
Presentation:

'Improve Your Bottom Line - Increase  Your Modeling & Application Return on Investment'

" Too much of a good thing can be wonderful." - Mae West

Admittedly, Mae West was most likely not talking about increasing her data modeling return on investment, but the quote does apply to a presentation meant to inspire the reuse of models and their components as a means to improve the bottom line.  After all, the pursuit of saving time and money is an ongoing business challenge, and your data modeling environment is an area where significant return on investment (ROI) can be realized.

We reinvent the wheel with every new model, rarely capitalizing on the previous analysis and work that has been contributed on large and small-scale projects alike.  There is, however, such an enormous monetary advantage to reusing model objects, that it's amazing that reusability has not become a priority in most organizations.

This presentation will provide the whys and how-tos of increasing your modeling ROI.  We will walk through a 'model case study', and discuss the associated costs of not establishing a model management strategy.  This example will show that reuse is the key to realizing significant savings potential.  Presented by the President/CEO of Axis Software Designs, (a former Hollywood actress and comedienne), and fortified with personal anecdotes, this presentation should appeal to IT Managers, Modelers, Business Analysts, Project Managers, and Business Users who keep saying to themselves, 'Am I crazy, or have we done this before?'

Second
Presentation:

" Using The Model To Make Application Development Less Painful "
- Carl Floren
Computer Associates

Carl will show you how your data models can be used to build Web applications using CA's AllFusion Gen development environment.

As we've seen, a model driven environment significantly increases your return on investment in terms of reliable metadata and reusability - but why not reap the same benefits from your applications?

Using your existing AllFusion ERwin models, you can increase the value of your application investment with platform independence, higher quality and complete source code generation.   You can produce Java, .NET, C or Cobol applications with the same skill set and development effort, reducing your development time and more quickly responding to your business needs.

Carl will give a brief demonstration of how the AllFusion ERwin model can become the foundation for a varied, yet stable modeling and application environment.
