Presentation(s): Data Modeling with IBM Rational XDE

The database design process is more than just the design of the physical database. It starts with reaching a complete understanding of the requirements. We extract the business objects from the current situation and plans for the future.  We established a common architecture and can build a persistent model. Then we can start the implementation of the physical data model and generate the database. The database itself will be used by applications. We have to build data access to the database. We all know that this is not the end of the story. This will need to be maintained for the life time of the system.

This presentation explains the whole lifecycle in word and demonstration. You will understand why each of the phases of the design process is important and how you can apply IBM Rational XDE to assist you.
