Architecture and Why It's
Important
The California Independent System Operator
(CAISO)
management needed a method for capturing and managing their collection of
Policies, Procedures, Standards and continuously growing amount of
organizational data related documentation. This presentation will review the
course of action that CAISO has taken in
devising an information architecture that meets the needs of this
organization. Many organizations currently use automated processes and fail
to document those processes. From a business perspective, only about 30% of
all processes (according to the Gartner Group) are ever automated, but all
business processes should be captured, even the automated ones and the
method by which they are automated. Bruce will explain how he utilized
Software Process Improvement (SPI) methods to "get started," where they are
now, and where they expect to go.
